Rickie Fowler laughed.
A few folks did too.
But it’s here where we must advise that if innocent toilet humor is not your thing, you should probably click away. But if it is

Fowler has a story about a good walk nearly soiled.
And the internet did their internet thing.
To begin, Fowler is recently playing well. Starting with the Players Championship in mid-March, he’s finished in the top 20 in nine of 10 events. He’s moved up to No. 35 in the world. Two weeks ago, he was in your U.S. Open final-round final pairing, before tying for fifth. His lengthy struggles are seemingly over.
Until late Thursday at the Rocket Mortgage Classic. He had opened the first round at Detroit Golf Club with eight birdies and one bogey and was seven-under through 16. Then he bogeyed the par-4 8th, after hitting over the green (he started on the back nine). Then he bogeyed the par-3 9th, after hitting into the right greenside bunker.
Then came this exchange.
Said the reporter: “Rickie, on a day when it doesn’t end as well as it was going, do you go right to the range, do you dwell on it, or do you just let it go?”
Said Fowler: “No, it is what it is.”
Fowler paused. He continued.
“I mean, to be perfectly honest, I had to go to the bathroom pretty badly, so luckily I just got drug-tested so I went straight in.”
Fowler smiled. He continued.
“There weren’t many bathrooms the last five holes so I was a little shaky coming in, and not to necessarily blame the finish on that, but it didn’t help.”
Fowler smiled. He ended his answer with just golf.
“Still a solid day, a lot of good stuff, off to a good start, and that’s really all you hope for on a Thursday to get a tournament going is get out moving in the right direction. And yeah, now going out with the little one, rest up. We’ve been on a pretty big stretch and looking forward to a couple days off next week before we head overseas.”
From here, folks found the transcript. Or the video. Then found their keyboards.
With that, here are some thoughts.
On these, you’re here for the comments:
